’3, 2, 1… Impro! Off The Wall’ ON NOW

OffTheWallHave you ever wanted to write something on a toilet wall but you didn’t have your Sharpie on you OR your handwriting is no good OR you didn’t want to commit a crime against property? Now is your chance to get all of those deep thoughts that have been piling up in your subconscious out. Not only that, Exploding Heads Impro will use them as inspiration for their completely made up short scenes and games.

We want to know who you heart “4 EVA” and where you want Tony Abbott to go. We may use your suggestion metaphorically. We may use your suggestion abstractly. We may spin your suggestion’s meaning on its axis. In a nutshell, we can’t do the show without you! We can’t do the show in a nutshell either as the five performers wouldn’t fit in the nutshell and our wonderful audience wouldn’t either. I digress… See you at the show!

The show is created from your suggestions, meaning anything could happen. The cast will lead you on a journey to reawaken the imagination of your inner child (perhaps with some adult humour).

With delightful and talented special guests from The Impro Box, Impro Melbourne, Impro Chimps and The Improv Conspiracy, this is sure to be an explosively fun Fringe season!

Unscripted Ultra-High-Definition 3-D Movie Night

Marco: Ever since we bought that subscription to the History Channel we never make love any more. Jane: Just one more episode darling, then I promise ... oh look Rasputin’s not dead after all!

This Monday the 8th July, the nimble-minded cast of Exploding Heads Impro will ad-lib movie pitches that, according to director/producer Ron Howard, “might just f***ing save the film industry”. The best pitch, chosen by you the audience, gets turned into a 25 min rendition of what could possibly be the best movie idea never to reach the screen! And it’s in 3D at no extra cost!

To start off the night, however, there is a round of Explosions! Anything goes as our cast turn audience suggestions into people-shaped life-art. Often funny, sometimes poignant, always surprising.

This week’s cast include: Jenny, Amanda, Corey, Julia and Josh. With MC Caitlin!

Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your cows and magic beans (‘cause we’re going to milk both of them for all their worth). Hope to see you there!

When: Monday, the 8th July.
Where: The 86, 185 Smith St, Fitzroy.
Cost: $10.

Hollywood Comes To Collingwood (Well, Close Enough)

Maude: Look Harriet, it’s that dreamy delivery guy with the cute little buns. Harriet: Yeah, but take my advice Maude, don’t buy until you’ve seen his baguette.

This Monday the 1st July, the quick thinking cast of Exploding Heads Impro will improvise movie pitches that’ll have producer Harvey Weinstein gagging on his barbequed ribs. The best pitch, chosen by you the audience, gets turned into a 25 min rendition of what could possibly be the best movie idea never to reach the screen!

To start off the night, however, there is a round of Explosions! Anything goes as our cast take audience suggestions and turn them into theatre extraordinaire. Often funny, sometimes poignant, always surprising.

This week’s cast include: Josh, Quinn, Jenny, Neil, Corey, and Caitlin!

Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your history books (‘cause we’re going to rewrite them). Hope to see you there!

Holy Smoke, It’s Another Exploding Heads Show!

This Monday the 24th June, the cast will improvise more movie pitches that will have Spielberg stroking his beard (we invited him on LinkedIn so he’ll definitely be there). The best pitch, chosen by you the audience, gets turned into a 30 min rendition of what could possibly be the best movie idea never to reach the screen!

To start off the night, however, there is a round of Explosions! Anything goes as our cast take audience suggestions and turn them into capital A art. Often funny, sometimes poignant, always surprising.

Bring your friends, bring your family, bring a bag of kittens for some back-room cat juggling (as long as the fuzz doesn’t shut us down). Hope to see you there!
